DICE within the European Innovation Ecosystem

The Digital Innovation Cluster for the Built Environment (DICE) is conceived as an innovation platform that connects stakeholders across the entire value chain of the built environment. By bringing together research institutions, industry partners, public administrations, and innovation organizations, DICE aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, experimentation, and collaboration across disciplines and sectors. In line with European innovation strategies, the cluster supports cross-sectoral cooperation, international networking, and the development of shared environments for testing and demonstrating new technologies and approaches.

Supporting the Built4People Partnership

DICE contributes to the objectives of the European Built4People (B4P) Partnership, which seeks to accelerate people-centred innovation for a sustainable built environment. The partnership promotes collaboration between research, industry, and public stakeholders to address challenges related to climate change, energy transition, digitalisation, and sustainable construction. Through its activities and network, DICE provides a regional platform for connecting stakeholders to European initiatives, developing collaborative projects, and translating research and innovation into practical applications.

Advancing the Values of the New European Bauhaus

The vision of DICE is also closely aligned with the principles of the New European Bauhaus (NEB), which combines sustainability, inclusiveness, and quality of life in the transformation of the built environment. The cluster encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, participatory approaches, and the integration of diverse perspectives in the development of innovative solutions. By fostering cooperation between academia, industry, public institutions, and civil society, DICE aims to support the creation of resilient, sustainable, and people-centred buildings, infrastructures, and cities.
