With the proposal DICE – Digital Innovation Cluster for the Built Environment – we are applying to join the B4PIC network as a Prospective Innovation Cluster to collaborate across Europe on people-centric and sustainable urban innovation. The idea of DICE is to establish a value-chain of digital planning and construction for smart buildings and smart cities and bring a data-driven perspective to B4PIC’s physical-built environment innovation ecosystem (data-driven design and engineering, wireless infrastructures, digital planning tools).DICE is to form a Hamburg-based high-impact cluster that brings together the digital and wireless dimension with the physical built environment („Digital-physical Cluster“). DICE aims to reach far beyond the level of individual projects and activities, and ambitions to build a structure and culture that facilitates cooperation in the sector. DICE wants to fill the gap and exploit the high potential that German – namely Hamburg´s – research and innovation ecosystem bears for new approaches in digital, data-based planning and construction.
We seek to strengthen the long-term sustainability and visibility of our cluster and contribute to European priorities such as the Green Deal Action Plan, Renovation Wave, New European Bauhaus, and the Circular Economy Action Plan.
